About Us

Johnson Nqonqoza High School was established in 1957. It is situated in a hilly area in the town of Somerset East which lies at the foot of the Boschberg Mountain, on the edge of the Karoo almost in the center of a triangle formed by Cradock, Port Elizabeth and Graaff - Reinet.

Although Somerset East has the infrastructure and the natural beauty to be a main tourist/economic center, the area low employment rate amongst its residents and a stagnant economy due mainly to the lack of awareness of the potential of this area and due to the fact that this area has never been actively marketed as a eco-tourist destination, agricultural area nor the fact that it is an ideal location for small and medium business enterprises, with its safe creme free, pollution environment and good education facilities.
