Although Somerset East has the infrastructure and the natural beauty to be a main tourist/economic center, the area low employment rate amongst its residents and a stagnant economy due mainly to the lack of awareness of the potential of this area and due to the fact that this area has never been actively marketed as a eco-tourist destination, agricultural area nor the fact that it is an ideal location for small and medium business enterprises, with its safe creme free, pollution environment and good education facilities.
